Parish nurse office moves

With building changes at Wilshire have come changes in parish nursing.

The parish nurse office is now in Room 1205-M, which is located in the new classroom area next to the church office. A cart on wheels allows Parish Nurse Linda Garner to be available in the Youth Center for Wednesday activities.

Resource materials for senior adults as well as many general health topics are available in the nurse’s office. Scales are located in the office for those who wish to keep track of weight changes. Office hours on Sunday will be added in the near future. Look for an announcement of a schedule for Sunday office hours soon.

A third automatic external defibrillator has been added to the two already available at Wilshire. It has been placed in the kitchen area at the north end of the second floor. Others are located in the first-floor church offices and at the third-floor coffee bar. Additional AEDs are desired in the Youth Center and Narthex, although funding has not been designated for these.

Classes for CPR and AED training will be scheduled for those who are interested, with a fee of $10 per person to pay for disposable materials. If interested in the class, please notify Garner by calling (214) 452-3151 or e-mailing her. Classes may be scheduled either on Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons, or from 6 to 9 p.m. on weekday evenings.

CPR for infants may be added to the class if there is interest.
