Associate Pastor Mark Wingfield and Wilshire parent Todd Allen will offer a course for children wanting to earn the God and Me religious award this summer.

This award is available for youth in grades one through three and is commonly earned by Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire groups but also may be earned by members of youth groups or Sunday School classes.

The goals of God and Me are to provide an opportunity for young people and families to explore their faith together, to help children realize that God is active in every part of their lives, to help children know Jesus is their best friend, and to memorize the Lord’s Prayer.

The God and Me program requires attendance at five group sessions with the counselor and an adult mentor as well as workbook participation at home with the adult mentor. Both Wingfield and Allen are experienced Scout leaders.
