Blood drive moves to Wednesday, May 21

Due to construction, Wilshire’s next quarterly blood drive will be held on a Wednesday evening rather than a Sunday morning.

The blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21. It will be held in Room 3301 from 3 to 8 p.m.

During construction, no space is available for the blood drive on Sunday mornings. So the Blood Reserve Ministry Team decided to be creative and find a new day.

The May blood drive falls on the first night of Summerpalooza for preschoolers and children, so parents of young children are encouraged to step up and become blood donors during the evening hours. Older adults who want to come donate earlier in the day may arrive as early as 3 p.m.

Carter Blood Care offers a special incentive for donors this month. Each week, one donor will win a 10-pack of movie tickets.

All donors will receive free cholesterol tests and T-shirts.

Donors must be 17 years or older and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.

Sign up for a specific time through the church office, or show up when you can. Walk-ins are welcome.

The blood drive also is open to anyone from the community who is a qualified donor. For more information about donating, visit www.carterbloodcare.org.
