Youth Choir begins new year Aug. 24
Youth Choir resumes Sunday, Aug. 24, and all new and returning singers are invited.
Incoming seventh graders are especially invited to an introductory session at 4 p.m. that day. The first full rehearsal of the new year will follow at 4:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
Wilshire’s Youth Choir is open to all students in grades seven through 12. The choir regularly rehearses from 4:45 to 6 p.m. on Sundays and sings regularly in Sunday morning worship. A highlight of the Youth Choir year is the annual mission choir tour, which will be the last week of June in 2009.
“Youth Choir is very important,” said Jennifer Browder, who will be a high school senior this year. “It gives the youth an opportunity to serve in worship and be leaders during the services. It shows the rest of the church how big the youth group is and how active we are. It’s also a great way for all of the youth to get to know each other; especially over choir tour, everyone is so close once we come home.”
