Wilshire will reconnect with Habitat for Humanity through this year’s all-church Missions Blitz on Saturday, Oct. 11.
Among many local missions projects to be done that day, about 20 Wilshire volunteers are needed for the first of three Saturdays of work on a Habitat house. Wilshire has been invited to provide volunteer labor for half of the six-week build of this house. Wilshire work dates will be Oct. 11, Oct. 18 and Oct. 25.
Mike Bateman will serve as project captain and is recruiting all interested volunteers for any of the three days of work.
The first day of the build falls on Wilshire’s Missions Blitz day, on which the church seeks to engage 400 volunteers in hands-on local ministry.
Projects will be available that are suitable for adults, youth and older children. These will include a makeover of one family’s home, writing notes of encouragement, visiting homebound members, working at Central Dallas Ministries, White Rock Center of Hope, the Wilkinson Center, Healing Hands Ministries and with other local mission partners.
Sign up boards will be posted outside the church office beginning Sept. 7.
