Fall emphasis includes $1 bills in offering plates

“Come and Worship” will be the theme of Wilshire’s fall stewardship emphasis. Beginning in October, all worshippers are invited to place $1 bills in the offering plate each Sunday, in addition to whatever tithes and offerings they normally give.

Adventurers to attend King Tut exhibit Wilshire Adventurers will visit the King Tut exhibit on Monday, Nov. 10. This internationally renowned exhibit is on display at the Dallas Musuem of Art. The group will depart the church at 10:30 a.m., eat lunch at El Fenix at 11 a.m., then go to the museum for a 1:30 tour. Transportation will be provided on church buses. Lunch and admission to the exhibit is $35 per person. An optional audio tour is available for an additional $6 per person. Tickets go on sale outside the church office on Sunday, Oct. 5. Dennis Smith was born in and grew up in Tyler. A self-confessed nerd, he excelled in science and mathematics, but believed if he were a good Christian, he would become a missionary (his father’s brother was a missionary to Brazil).
