Sr. adult camp still open
Nearly 50 people are signed up for Wilshire’s Young at Heart camp in the Texas Hill Country April 19-23, but there’s still room for you.
Registration is still open, but there is a limit to how many can be accommodated. If you’ve been putting off signing up, it’s time to stop by the church office, pick up and turn in a registration form, along with the $50 deposit.
The camp is open to all senior adults—whether you’re approaching 60 or left 60 long ago—including church members and guests.
Camp pastor will be Pastoral Resident Matt Marston, who will teach on the major works of the Holy Spirit as recorded in the New Testament. Music will be led by Darren DeMent, minister to students, and Sarah Stafford, associate minister of music. Associate Pastor Mark Wingfield and Minister to Senior Adults Jessica Capps will give leadership to the camp experience.
In addition to fun, fellowship and study at Camp Buckner, which is located near Burnet, campers will take three outings to nearby towns for sightseeing and shopping.
In Kerrville, the group will visit James Avery and the Museum of Western Art and will share dinner together at the Y.O. Ranch Resort Hotel. Guest speaker and humorist for the evening will be Glenn Schmucker, former Wilshire member who serves as pastor of a church in nearby Boerne.
Near Georgetown, the group will enjoy dinner at Canyon of the Eagles Resort and Nature Park. Guest entertainers that evening will be Rick and D’Anne Willis of First Baptist Church of Lampassas.
On the way home on Friday, the group will stop in Salado.
Cost is $490 per person for double occupancy, $590 per person for single occupancy and $470 per person for triple occupancy. Cost is all-inclusive, except for a few on-your-own meals noted in the itinerary. Transportation will be provided by chartered motor coach from Wilshire’s property and back.
