Annette Thornburg, First year pastoral resident

Annette came to Wilshire in September 2011 from the University of Chicago, where she earned a master of divinity degree. She holds a bachelor of arts in English and religion from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. At the University of Chicago, she served as president of the Divinity Student Association and as an assistant in the ministry department. While attending seminary, she served on staff at First Baptist Church of Chicago.

Between her undergraduate and graduate studies, she worked as director of an AmeriCorps project in Mission, W.Va. There she built a 10-member network of support that serviced 30 sites.

Annette also has worked in Ghana on an extended project where she studied the impact of short-term missions volunteerism.
