Library history
The ministry of the library began with its formal opening Jan. 31, 1954. The library has consistently grown and expanded its ministry through the dedicated service of volunteer workers and the generosity of donors who have given books, videos, equipment and furnishings.
Volunteers
The library is staffed largely by volunteers. Volunteer applications are available in the library and are reviewed by the Library Committee. Volunteers should have basic computer skills and a desire to serve library users of all ages.
Library Committee
The library is managed by a church-elected committee with a rotating membership.
Gifts
All gifts are gladly welcomed by the library. Non-monetary gifts are reviewed and added to the collection at the discretion of the librarian. Non-monetary gifts not added to the collection are donated to non-profit agencies supported by Wilshire. Cash gifts or gifts of materials may be made in honor or in memory of loved ones, teachers or others. The librarian also has a wish list of titles available if you would like to choose a needed title to give as a gift.
