Wilshire is a Baptist church organized around a congregational form of governance. Unlike some Protestant denominations, we have no bishops or archbishops instructing the church. The congregation governs itself as an autonomous body.
The congregation employs ministerial staff and support staff to carry out the day-to-day operation of the church. The staff receives guidance and support from the deacons and an extensive structure of committees and ministry teams.
Wilshire also functions as a teaching congregation, training young ministers in a two-year, post-seminary program called the pastoral residency.
