Missions

Missions stands at the heart of who we are as Baptist Christians. We are united around the mandates of Jesus to go and make disciples of all nations and to care for those in need.

Many Wilshire members are engaged in direct missions activities. A major portion of the church budget is devoted to missions support as well.

State Missions

Wilshire has three primary partners for mission work across Texas:

Global Missions

Wilshire's primary partner in global missions is the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Through CBF, Wilshire supports career missionaries around the world, as well as short-term and volunteer mission workers.

Missions Education

Missions isn't just for adults at Wilshire. From mid-August through May, children in preschool through elementary school learn about missions through a unique curriculum called Globetrekkers.

Current situation in Kenya

Because of Wilshire’s partnership with Buckner International and several churches in Busia, Kenya, news of the current political unrest has been of particular interest. To learn more, view the daily updates (click here) given by CBF friends Sam and Melody Harrell, who are located in a nearby region of Kenya.
