Young Adult Classes

Classes meet at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

One size doesn’t fit all in adult Sunday School at Wilshire. Especially if you are new to Wilshire, we encourage you to try on several classes until you find the right fit.

Most classes, unless noted, include both men and women, couples and singles. Although general age ranges are given, people of all ages are welcome to participate in any class.

Avodah - Community Hall Room 311
"Avodah" is a Hebrew word meaning both “work” and “worship.” Singles and couples, mainly in their 30s, discuss how to bridge the gap between Sunday worship and Monday living. Topics are selected by the class and have ranged from examining a theology of money, to the theology of U2 and often include video segments. Teachers are Alan Wright and Andrew Warden.

Beginnings Class - Twice a year, Wilshire offers a short-term course designed especially for newly married or nearly married couples. The Beginnings Class gives a biblical perspective on issues most important to couples as they begin a shared life together: Communication, finances, intimacy, spirituality. The class is open to the community. It typically meets on Sunday mornings. For more information about the next session of Beginnings Class, contact Abbie Huff at 214-452-3104.

FaithPlus - Community Hall Room 306/308

Most members are early 40s to mid-50s with elementary to high school children. The class is taught by a rotation of members from within the class and covers a wide range of topics from biblical history to today’s headlines. Directed by Melody Loggins.
