Wilshire Parent Connection Monthly Newsletter:  October 2018 (pdf)

Weekly schedule for children

On Sunday mornings:

  • Sunday School at 9:40 every Sunday morning (second floor)
  • Worship with families in Sanctuary at 8:30 or 11 a.m.

On Wednesday nights:

  • Preschoolers and children alike find age-appropriate training during the school year. All children ages 3 yrs (by Sept. 1) to 6th grade are invited to Music & Missions, beginning at 6 p.m. 'Music' consists of choirs that range from the simplest preschool music to more complex productions by older elementary children. 'Music' is followed by 'Missions' - Preschool Missions (ages 3 through Kindergarten), Bible skills (first through third grade) or Globetrekkers (fourth through sixth grade) from 6:45 to 7:15/25 p.m. Dinner is offered in Koinonia Cafe from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wilshire also offers classes and activities for adults during the time when kids are attending Music & Missions. Child care is offered for birth through 2 years old.

*Since Halloween night falls on a Wednesday this year, there will be no evening meal that night and no Music & Missions or any other Wednesday evening activity (except for Sanctuary Choir rehearsal).

Wilshire offers a full range of opportunities for children, from Bible study to music and missions, to camps and special events. Children are a vital part of Wilshire's life, not only in the classroom but also as participants and leaders in worship. Objectives of our children's ministry are to lay foundations for a child to accept Jesus Christ as Savior at the time when God's Spirit leads him or her to do so and to prepare children for lives of service.

The central component of ministry to children at Wilshire is Sunday School, which is offered every week at 9:40 a.m. The children's division begins at first grade and goes through sixth grade. All children's Sunday School classrooms are located on the second floor.
