Faith in 3D: Working
Wilshire’s annual Faith in 3-D drama will turn a new page this year with the production of a musical. The title is Working, and it includes songs by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Wicked), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), James Taylor and others.
Performances will be offered in Community Hall on Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. The 90-minute show will be followed by dessert and a discussion led by George Mason.
The characters in Working are everybody you know. The situations are everyday situations, but the musical is anything but ordinary. Within the lives of average people are found myriads of hopes, aspirations and dreams that are common to all.
The musical is based on the Studs Terkel book Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do.
A cast of 21 Wilshire members is directed by Nancy Poynter with Doug Haney and George Gagliardi as music directors.
The event is free and is appropriate for elementary age children and up. Preschool child care will be offered on Friday night.
